Sarah Woods Introduces Bourbon Vanilla Pods

New food trends.

Did you know that a vanilla pod is the fruit of a vining orchid plant?  There are three types of vanilla beans and they are Bourbon-Madagascar off the coast of Africa, Mexican from Veracruz and Tahitian.

Sarah Woods Traditions introduces high quality Bourbon-Madagascar vanilla pods in an award-winning package from Fiddes Payne Ltd., a British company known for their exceptional spice products and great packaging. Two vanilla pods are packaged in a vacuum-packed aluminum tube.  The attractively decorated tube is so unique and innovative it received the Sial Exhibition award in France.  This tube efficiently keeps the beans at their freshest so they don’t dry out or lose their precious flavor. 

Gourmands today much prefer to use the Bourbon vanilla pod to the Mexican or Tahitian versions.  They know Bourbon-Madagascar beans do not contain any toxic chemicals that are often used in other countries.  True food lovers and chefs prefer the authentic bourbon bean for cooking because they know there is no comparison to flavor intensity and quality.  The alternative is common liquid vanilla extract, a process of soaking chopped beans in an alcohol-water solution and thus has an alcohol taste.  Imitation vanilla is totally comprised of artificial flavoring and has a bitter aftertaste.
