Best Teas by Time
of Day
Breakfast
teas: tend to be hearty teas, often made with blends of tea from
India and Africa. Favorites are Yorkshire Gold, one of the best sellers
in Great Britain, Taylors English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Ceylon, Assam,
Irish Breakfast, Scottish Breakfast and South African Kwazulu. Afternoon teas: are lighter and are often made with blends of tea
from China. Darjeeling is the classic afternoon tea, with Taylors
Afternoon Darjeeling being one of the most popular. Other popular
choices for afternoon are flavored teas, such as China Rose Petal, Mango
or Blackcurrant, and green teas, such as Taylors Green Tea with Jasmine
or Green Earl Grey.
Evening teas: Many people prefer lighter teas, such as those
served in the afternoon, for evening drinking. Green tea is a favorite,
as it has less caffeine. For those very sensitive to caffeine,
decaffeinated teas and caffeine-free tisanes such as Chamomile or
Rosehips and Hibiscus provide an alternative.
