“Best Cup of Tea in
England” Known as the “Oscar” of the English
tea industry, the “Best Cup” designation comes from the annual
competition conducted by The British Tea Council to select England’s
Top Tea Place.
Representatives from the Tea Council visit tea rooms around the country,
judging them according to strict criteria for quality of service,
quality of food – and most importantly – quality of the tea served in
each establishment. Competition is keen, since only one tea place in
the whole of England can receive the award in any given year.
Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms, a sister company of Taylors of Harrogate, are favorite stops for
both tourists and local Yorkshire residents. Bettys serves Taylors of
Harrogate Teas, and has won the Top Tea
Place on three occasions. It is this first-hand experience with
discerning English tea drinkers that Taylors draws on when it blends its
famous Yorkshire Teas and the other fine teas that are well-loved in both
England and the U.S.
